BP relies on a well-production tool used by teams around the world to monitor and manage production data. Over time, the tool had become complex to navigate and difficult to extend.
We redesigned it around a scalable experience built from flexible components, cutting down task journeys, removing friction and introducing interactive, touch-based graphs that make production data easier to explore.
The tool had grown feature by feature, so screens were built in different ways and adding anything new was slow and inconsistent.
Common tasks took too many steps, and production data sat in static views that were hard to explore, particularly for users in the field working on tablets and touch devices.
We built a library of flexible components that can be configured for different tasks and data sets, so the tool scales as new requirements arrive without being redesigned each time.
We mapped and streamlined the key task journeys, reducing the number of steps for everyday work and removing points of friction across the workflow.
We introduced interactive graphs with a touch-based, dynamic experience, letting users pinch, zoom, scrub and drill into production data directly on screen.
